CLINICAL MENTOR

Someone that inspires enthusiasm, for clinical nursing / mentorship / preceptorship.

Aim

This nominee for this award should be someone that inspires enthusiasm for clinical nursing. It is to acknowledge the clinical contribution of someone who is a distinguished clinical teacher, mentor or preceptor to fellow nurses and/or nursing students in the clinical area. The nomination is open to all registered general nurses, including clinical facilitators. The nominee should have made an impact through educational endeavours, teaching and mentoring, role modelling and educational leadership, including on-going self-education.

Evaluation Criteria

Application provides evidence of

• Demonstrates leadership in clinical teaching and mentoring.
• Evidence of continuous professional development and maintenance of competence.
• Promotes a link between theory and practice.
• Active multi-disciplinary team member.

In no more than 350 words please provide the justification for nominating the intended recipient (s).

Why this Nurse or Team should be considered and deserves this recognition of excellence.
