Thank you to all those who attended our Annual Scientific Meeting in association with The Irish Cardiac Society on Thursday 17th October 2024 in the Europa Hotel, Belfast.

The content and calibre of the programme was widely considered to be excellent, offering great diversity across the cardiovascular spectrum of specialities.

Dr Sinead Hughes, Consultant Cardiologist presented on Cardiac Amyloidosis. A really interesting presentation, especially given the prevalence of ATTR Amyloid in the northern region.
Ms Mairead Lehane presented “Communicating with hard to reach men with CV disease”.
Ms Fiona Colbert Donaghey presented on “Women and Cardiovascular Disease”.
Ms Lisa Donaghy presented “The introduction of a PFO Service”.
Mr John Heatley provided great insight into the patient experience. We were privileged to have John join us for the day & share his insights.
Dr. Susan Connolly updated attendees on the new Hypertension Guidelines.
Prof. Nathan Wong, straight from America that morning, presented on “Lipid Management Guidelines”.
The iconic Cathie Biga.
Ms Biga is the first nurse to be elected president of the American College of Cardiology.
We were honoured to have her present on “Cardiology Beyond the Guidelines”.
